Drug driver banned from driving for 3 years in Bangor

A Bangor woman has been banned from driving by magistrates for 3 years and received a fine after drug driving.

Kelsea Coburn, of Bangor, appeared before Caernarfon Magistrates' Court on the 30th of April 2024, pleading guilty.

Coburn was stopped by police on the 27th January 2024 and was disqualified from driving after being caught with a controlled substance in her system.

The court heard that the woman was stopped by police while behind the wheel of her vehicle on the A4087, in Bangor, in January of 2024.

Laboratory tests showed cannabis in Coburn’s blood, exceeding the legal limit.

In 2019, Kelsea Coburn was convicted of a similar offence and was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Coburn received a Band C fine of £253 and deductions on benefits.

Kelsea Coburn has been in contact with mental health services since the conviction
